Update from Bay Radio HQ!

Hi all!

(excuse the length but trust me, must reads follow)

We have all been busy at Bay Radio over the summer and whilst you all sun yourselves in far flung destinations we have started getting things ready for Freshers and the new academic year. Soo I thought it was about time I gave everyone an update as to what's been occurin' over the past month or two.

1. Student Radio Association

After years apart, we have decided to rekindle our relationship with the Student Radio Association. By becoming members we now have access to a vast network of people and information in the Radio Industry as well as being able to list ourselves amongst the masses of student radio stations already signed up. Those of you who are already members and wondering where to find information on how to continue your love for radio this is a great place to start as they list current opportunities in the industry, if your also thinking of joining Bay when you get to Aber, take a look on the site to read about how Student Radio has helped some of the stars and future stars of radio. 2. The Big(ish) Move

After a year of expansion and slowly rising volumes we have out grown our current studio and like an evolving pikachu we are moving into a shiny new, bigger studio. OOOAAAA, but on a serious note this means that hopefully we will be able to have speakers back in the studio so you can all groove around during your shows and hopefully we will be able to expand our programme therefore having shows past 9 o clock (wink wink)! The team and I should be moving across in the next few weeks and we will document this task complete with photos and everything as we're pretty fancy like that.

3. Freshers

Well whether or not your gonna be a fresher or not, that time of the year is very exciting if only for the free pens! But here in Bay Radio we are planning on well and truly knocking this one out of the park! We will be broadcasting live from the freshers fayre itself meaning you can have a quick try out on the radio even if you never thought you had the face for it! We will also be taking those who are interested up to the studio to have a look round and see how we do things and then if that's not enough we will be descending around the union to DJ live (or maybe we will bring along some bands?) and generally have some music orientated fun times, bring your feet, bring a beer (I think that's allowed), bring your mates and we can all have a good time.
